Why Patients Choose Dr. Stragier for Invisalign

More than 35 Years in Practice

The privilege to serve the same community since 1985 can only be earned through consistently excellent care for each and every patient. Dr. Stragier is a dentist whose commitment to outstanding service has made him the dentist of choice for many San Diegans. When you choose Dr. Stragier for Invisalign, you will receive care from a dentist who is personally invested in the success of your treatment.

Care That Serves Your Best Interests

Invisalign has been life-changing for many patients suffering from dental misalignment, but it's not right for everyone. If you discuss Invisalign with Dr. Stragier and he determines that you are not a candidate for clear aligners, he can provide traditional orthodontics. If your case is especially complex, he can refer you to one of his trusted San Diego colleagues. In other words, Dr. Stragier isn't here to sell you a popular product; he is here to help you take advantage of the treatment that will benefit you the most.

Free Consultations and Second Opinions

Dr. Stragier doesn't believe it should cost anything for you to find the right Invisalign provider. That's why he offers no-obligation consultations that can allow you to decide whether he is the right dentist for you or your child. You can request a consultation, have a no-pressure discussion, and make an informed choice about the future of your oral health. And if you have received an orthodontic recommendation from another provider and want another dentist's perspective, Dr. Stragier also provides free second opinions.

What Does Invisalign Cost?

The cost of Invisalign treatment by Dr. Stragier can range from $3,000 to $5,000, depending on the extent of treatment you need. In other words, the longer your treatment will take, the more you can expect the treatment to cost. It's important to remember that investing in a solution like Invisalign can save you both time and money in the future. After all, a straighter smile is much easier to brush and floss, which can prevent decay and other issues. A straight smile is also far less likely to develop issues such as temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorder.

Paying for Invisalign Treatment

Though many people may think of Invisalign as a way to correct cosmetic concerns, correcting your misalignment can also prevent serious oral health problems. Because of this, insurance companies will usually contribute to the cost of treatment.

Our San Diego, CA, dental office prides itself on providing patients with high-quality care at affordable prices. We accept most insurances and even offer payment and financing plans to cover any out-of-pocket costs to make this life-changing treatment fit comfortably into your budget.

Our San Diego, CA, dentist has undergone special training to be able to offer Invisalign treatment to patients. When you choose us, you're in capable hands.

Free Consultation

During your free consultation at our San Diego, CA, practice, your dentist will determine if you're a good candidate for Invisalign. He may check the severity of your misalignment and inquire about your dental hygiene habits.

Impressions

If your dentist determines that you're a good candidate for Invisalign, he will take impressions of your teeth. These will be used to map out the best possible realignment plan and create your series of aligner trays.

Start Treatment

After a few weeks, you will receive your first set of clear aligner trays and instructions on how to use them from your dentist. Your treatment can begin immediately.

New Aligners

About every four to six weeks, you will visit our practice so we can check your progress and determine if your treatment is working as it should. During these visits, you will receive your new aligners to continue straightening your teeth.

Attend Appointments

Following your orthodontic treatment, you should attend regular dental appointments at least twice a year so we can continue to monitor your alignment and maintain your smile.

Exploring  Candidacy for Invisalign

Before you can begin your treatment at our office in San Diego, CA, our dentist will have to determine if you're a good candidate. During your free consultation, he will discuss a variety of factors, including:

Degree of Misalignment

Invisalign corrects mild to moderate misalignment. If you have severe misalignment, you may be a better candidate for other orthodontics.

Your Commitment

To be a good candidate for this orthodontic treatment, you must be dedicated to wearing the aligner trays for at least 22 hours each day. Failure to wear the aligner trays for the correct amount of time can result in a longer treatment timeline and may reverse your progress.

Your Oral Health

Before and during your treatment, it's important for you to practice good oral hygiene at home. We recommend following an at-home oral hygiene routine that involves brushing twice a day, flossing once a day, and using an oral rinse. This will help keep your mouth healthy enough for orthodontics.

Retaining Your  Results

/

After orthodontics, it's recommended to wear a retainer to allow your jawbone to heal around your teeth in their new position. Your dentist may recommend that you wear a retainer for several hours during the day and every night while you sleep indefinitely. Though you may be provided with a retainer at your final checkup with our San Diego, CA, dentist, Invisalign patients can often use their final aligner tray as their retainer.

The Dangers of Misaligned Teeth

Though your main concern may be the appearance of your smile, when left untreated, your misalignment can lead to serious problems, including:

  • Chipped teeth
  • Cracked teeth
  • Worn tooth surfaces
  • Loose teeth
  • Tooth loss
  • Jawbone atrophy
  • Jaw strain
  • Temporomandibular joint disorder (TMD)
  • Chronic headaches
  • Difficulty speaking and chewing

Fortunately, Invisalign can correct different misalignment problems and more.

Invisalign as a Preventative Treatment

Minor dental misalignment in children can develop into major misalignment as an adult. When adults have major misalignment problems, not only are they often self-conscious about their smiles but they are also more at risk for decay, gum disease, and tooth loss.

Correcting your child's dental misalignment now provide them with a variety of benefits, including:

  • Helping prevent the development of serious dental concerns
  • Developing young jaws and arches
  • Making room for incoming permanent teeth
  • Making treatment more conservative and less expensive

Children and Invisalign

Though you may think of Invisalign as an orthodontic option for teenagers and adults, children can also benefit from this treatment.

Your child as young as seven can benefit from wearing Invisalign as long as they can follow an at-home oral care routine and wear their aligner trays for the recommended time.

Choose Invisalign for Your Child TO PREVENT FUTURE PROBLEMS

If your child or teenager has minor dental misalignment and they're responsible enough to use Invisalign correctly, our San Diego, CA, team can provide them with comfortable Invisalign treatment to straighten their teeth and potentially avoid serious oral health problems in the future.

If you're ready to request a consultation for your child, we invite you to contact our San Diego, CA, dental practice:

Could I Benefit From Traditional Braces
Instead?

/

Though Invisalign is a good solution for correcting minor misalignment, certain patients may benefit from traditional braces instead. Severe misalignment or complex cases typically require braces and a longer timeframe.

Comparing Invisalign and Braces

At this point, you may be wondering about the benefits and drawbacks of both Invisalign and traditional braces. Some of the main differences between the two treatments include:

Cost Before Insurance Time
Invisalign Invisalign generally costs between $3,000 and $5,000, depending on your treatment plan. Invisalign typically takes anywhere from 12 to 18 months to complete treatment but can provide results in as few as six months.
Braces The average cost of braces can fall anywhere between $3,000 and $7,000. Braces typically take 24 months to correct misalignment; however, treatment can be completed anywhere from under 12 months to three years.

Dr Stragier is the absolute best. He is gentle, honest, experienced, and he KNOWS his stuff. After 10 years of great care, I tried a dentist closer to my home, but I came back, because Dr Stragier is worth the drive. His staff is also amazing. I’d give them 10 stars if I could!
